Our Story
For as long as humans have gathered, we've turned to storytelling not only to celebrate and laugh, but also to wrestle with what is hard. Shenanigan Station carries that passion forward—creating an inclusive space for curiosity, dissent, and dialogue, where difference is welcome, and connection can grow even in the midst of challenge.
We exist as a refuge for the curious, the restless, and the ones who never quite felt at home in conventional spaces. Here, laughter, dialogue, and storytelling are honored as essential to our well-being. This is where we gather to heal, play, and write new chapters together.
The Space
Front Room
Our flexible community space with warm wood, string lights, eclectic furniture, and shelves filled with odd treasures and trunks that carry the metaphor of our shared "beautiful baggage." Perfect for events, workshops, and gatherings of 15-25 people.
Collaboration Corner
Nestled in the back is a private therapy office where story takes clinical form. It's a trauma-informed space for reflection, inclusion, and healing—a place where every story matters. For more information, contact rachael@collaborationcorner.org.
Kitchenette
Coffee, tea, and basic refreshments available. A cozy spot for conversation and connection between events, where the kettle's always on and stories flow freely.
What We Believe
Storytelling
Every gathering is an invitation to share and listen—because stories shape who we are and how we heal.
Belonging
This is a space where no one has to shrink themselves to fit. Every voice matters, every story has a place.
Playfulness
Play is not frivolous—it is essential to life. Creativity, games, and experimentation are essential practices for health and resilience.
Curiosity
We value questions as much as answers, and believe exploration—whether through art, dialogue, or play—is vital to growth.
Authenticity
No false polish, only real presence and connection. What matters most is showing up, not performing.
How We Work
Shenanigan Station is intentionally eclectic, sustaining itself through both professional practice and community events. This dual nature keeps the lights on while leaving room for imagination—growing as the people who gather here shape it.
What We Offer
- Collaboration Corner counseling services
- Flexible coworking space for remote workers
- Event hosting and space rentals
- Community gatherings and workshops
- Showcasing opportunities for local makers
Why This Matters
We're not dependent on any single revenue stream, which gives us the freedom to take risks, support emerging artists, and host events that might not be commercially viable elsewhere. We can focus on what serves the community rather than what maximizes profit.
About Rachael
The concept of Shenanigan Station was born from a life lived in constant motion, and from a love of trains and the ethos of their stations. Moving often as a child, always surviving and connecting through the sharing of stories, Rachael grew fascinated by the way paths cross and leave their mark.
The trunks scattered throughout the Station represent the beautiful baggage we all carry: the memories, experiences, and stories that shape who we are. Shenanigan Station is her way of honoring those journeys—creating a space where we can gather, heal, play, and write new chapters together.
